Foundry

WCI has been plating match plates, patterns, and core boxes for the foundry industry since the early-1960’s. Our work for John Deere Foundry® operations in Moline, IL became so valuable, we moved our operations from Albert Lea, MN to our present 14,000 square foot location in Rock Island, IL in 1972 to be close to their operations. Our first US Patent, #4,113,899, was co-developed with John Deere Foundry®, and the resulting technology was licensed to them in 1978.

Plating foundry plates and core boxes not only protect the plates from excessive wear and make them last much longer, they also make release from sand media easier and faster during forming operations.
